What an amazing adventure as a wedding photographer to be invited to Botswana. But even more was the opportunity to spend time with this special family.
We arrived at the border in time to catch the ferry across the river where the staff of Mashatu Game Reserve was there to pick us up for another 45 minute drive into the reserve.
It was a breath taking display of what a little water can do! Little yellow flowers cheerfully displaying their prettiness, it was magical!
Upon arrival we were welcomed by some dark clouds, but Mashatu’s friendly staff soon chased the morbid away. We had time to refresh and join them for high tea, before we set out on the afternoon’s game drive.
Our first day at Mashatu was just beyond my expectations. I had this feeling as we were driving through this bushveld that the animals had sighed a sigh of relief and everyone was satisfied. And that life is good!
When the wedding day broke it was hot! So everything was abuzz and preparing ready for the day ahead. The Mashatu staff is so friendly and welcoming, they made us all feel special on this grand day. Our drive to the ceremony was full of surprises with wildlife around every turn and bush. Even the elephants were on the road to wish Jana blessings.
What a stunning moment to be out there, no fences, no concrete or reminders of the world. It was a memorable time for Jana and Jandré, and their guests, as they made their promise to each other. One I am sure they will never forget.
Jana & Jandré, it was an honor to be part of your wedding celebrations. Jenna and I really felt like part of the family. I saw the love and I know that you two, your union, will be a blessing to all those around you. Enjoy your photos!
