I have always been one to gravitate towards people who are a little different, arty and perhaps considered a little socially unacceptable. Not all of them like me, though, because I have a little of both sides of the coin, well at least I think. Making me not everyone’s “cup of tea”.
You know how it goes.
So when I got a chance to photograph a true artist in her own territory I was over-joyed. Finally, I can be near someone different, someone arty and Nina is totally socially acceptable in my world (big smile). Nina is completely in her element at their family studio. You can see her stamp on everything she puts her hand to. She is from a family of artists and I find that so beautiful and precious. Something so weighty, you can tangibly feel it’s value and importance. So much experience, so much wisdom and technique. It’s awesome in my books!
She has really carved out a unique space for herself, creating the most beautiful and one-of-a-kind porcelain jewellery pieces. She also makes and designs beautiful pottery pieces and vessels for every need or want. Her focus is detail, simplicity and aesthetic value. Timelessness and quality are behind every piece she forges.
Nina may you always appreciate your legacy, and I know all our family’s come with their quirks. But may you take it to the next level and make the link stronger in this tradition of creating art out of dust.
Just a little peek into a day in the life of Nina Bosch.
