If you don’t know my love for growing veggies then you haven’t seen my personal Instagram account. Well at least in between all the cat photos. But I just love, love, love the idea that you can place one seed in the ground and now you no longer need to buy that item at the grocer. It is truly a good news kinda thing.
I thought it would be right up my alley to do a shoot at Wilsonia Farm tunnels (aka. The Cowshed family). I think every home should have a tunnel or at least a vegetable garden. Growing your own food, sharing the surplus. It is a deep heart satisfaction act and I am in love with the idea.
So here is Calla, prancing around the tunnels and warehouse. I remember on the day we could not stop saying: “Ooh, I love Rosemary.” “Ooh, I also wanna grow Fennel”. On and on we went, we just had to laugh.
Here is a quote that sums it all up for me and one I aspire to:
“Odd as I am sure it will appear to some, I can think of no better form of personal involvement in the cure of the environment than that of gardening. A person who is growing a garden, if he is growing it organically, is improving a piece of the world. He is producing something to eat, which makes him somewhat independent of the grocery business, but he is also enlarging, for himself, the meaning of food and the pleasure of eating.”
